Less than two weeks after the last release, we publish a new release of Qt: 4.4.3 is out. The reason for this, I mentioned then: Qt is now copyright Nokia Corporation. So we make a new release with the new copyright.
But… we wouldn’t waste your time with just legalese, would we?
No, we take this opportunity to launch our cool new website with our new brand:

The 4.4.3 version of Qt comes with the new logos.

Perforce has served us extremely well for 10 years. And it’s still better than many other solutions out there (including Subversion). But as we grow, we need to improve our tools. And like I explained before, we feel Git matches our model better.

IMO, the old logo was way better, but the site is much improved!
In my opinion, the old slogan was somewhat snappier. The new page layout is cleaner than the old one.

The website is partially broken, measured in w3 validity and display quality in Konqueror 4.1.67.

I agree with Ivan; the new logo just doesn’t do it for me. The letters look stretched, and white doesn’t fit with the green at all.

The new website is, however, quite nice – the only thing I don’t like is the menu bar (the black one. I think it’s the grey gradient for the selected section that disturbs me).
If I click through to the new Trolltech site while reading this post in Google Reader, the word Google will be highlighted.

That is Nokia font used everywhere in their materials.
The logo in this page is scaled down by your browser, right mouse click it -> “view image” to see it the way it meant to look
The problem with the old logo was that not everyone could tell it was a Q and a T. Sometimes people would fail to notice the T at all. Others wouldn’t notice it’s a Q (it could be interpreted as an O). What’s more, the T there is capital.
The new logo is clear: it’s “Qt”, with a lowercase T.
What’s more, that’s the standard Nokia font
As for the old slogan, we’ve just added to it: Deploy everywhere. That’s part of our plan to conquer the world… erm, I mean, our “Qt Everywhere” philosophy.
Martin: http://trolltech.com/downloads looks just fine in Konqueror 3.5.9 and 4.1.62. If it is broken for you, it’s either a regression in Konqueror since my build or you were caught in-between updates.
As for the validation errors, I hope they get ironed out as time passes. We had to make lots of modifications in the last minutes.
Don’t drink the Big Corporation KoolAid! The old logo and slogan were much better. They could have been improved, but this is not an improvement. It looks like someone’s good idea that got “sanitized” in a meeting. Just my opinion.

I wanted to try eclipse integration for C++. The download does not work for me.
I liked the Trolltech brand. Too bad it’s gone. But hey… who cares as long as you guys continue to deliver great software.
When will qtsoftware.com be used? whois says the owner is Nokia but when I browse the site, it shows crap about DVD ripping and online dating.
The copyright is actually the *only* change?
Now the important part:
Most (all?) new pinball machines are so-so, there is only one major manufacturer (Stern) left – which is better than none, oh well. But have a look at the Star Trek – The Next Generation machines. Those are the best that I know, really *really* awesome. Star Trek TNG has especially great music. They have *much* higher production values than anything new I’ve seen. ipdb.org has ratings and it helps you find other good ones. Scared Stiff also looks nice, very cheesy and over the top.
It is a odd that there is a big button right in the center of the main page with the text BUY and a photo of credit cards and when you click on it it brings you to the contact page and not a form to select what Qt to buy and a way to enter your credit card.
The eclipse integration should be out within the week. There’s still work to be done with the rebranding.
Is there a new domain name?
qtsoftware.com looks like an ad page. qt-software.com isn’t registered at all. qt.com (personally the best domain, IMO) is quantum tech’s.
AFAIK, the name Qt Software was used to refer to TT before the new page was made.
When will TT Labs become Qt Labs?
For the record, the QtJambi downloads pages are broken.
Hmm, just installed 4.4.2 on all of my machines. I doubt the ‘improvements’ in 4.4.3 will make me go through all the work again.
But would it be possible to get read access to your Qt git repository? Would be easier just to do a ‘pull’ for each new version.

For me download page also looks terrible in Konqueror (4.1.1), as well as in Firefox (3.0.1) with JavaScript disabled.
It’s now a good idea to have both http://trolltech.com/qt/ and http://trolltech.com/company/model/ return “We’re sorry, but that page doesn’t exist… “.
These are on (possibly) millions of Help->About Qt windows.
@Andreas: The pinball should be up and running again now, it just needed some final adjustments. The upper eject assembly is a little slow though, so I’ve ordered a new spring plate for it. But supposedly that is a known problem with WCS. Dunno if I agree with you on STTNG, but Scared Stiff is definitely a lot of fun!
